Festival in Paradise.

There is hardly any point in reporting on the festival. We thought we would arrive on this small paradise island and everything and everyone would be under the festival spell. That was not the case. The festival area was nicely done, but in the end it was just a small decorated beach area in the west of the island. In all other corners, the curbs were lifted from 8 p.m. So we decided to get a day ticket instead of shelling out 120€ for 3 days. In the end, that was a good decision because even though we had a good evening, everything else wouldn't have been worth it. Instead, we did what is quite typical for Gili Air, had a relaxing weekend. We went snorkeling and cycled around the islands.

But our accommodation was amazing! We had a rooftop terrace with a hammock, everything was clean and the staff was very friendly. If you ever come to Gili Air, I highly recommend the Sejuk Cottages :).

In retrospect, I wasn't even so sad that the festival wasn't a big hit. For the first time in ages, I really had the feeling of being able to switch off completely. No obligations, no appointments, no stress. And no noise either. This picture perfectly represents the days on Gili Air for me. I was simply speechless when I stood there and looked over to Lombok. I could hear my own heart beating, it was so quiet.
