Day 4 of the Scotland tour

Ku kandziyisiwile: 12.08.2022

The last day of our Scotland tour. The first stop of the day was Elian Donan Castle, where we only took a few photos.

The next stop was Loch Ness. Upon arrival, we took a one-hour boat tour and visited the extremely long Loch. However, there was no sign of Nessie.

In the town, we had lunch with our new friends, and I dared to try the famous infamous Haggis. Although it was an experience, it's not something I would want to repeat quickly.

Since it was over 20 degrees on this day and very hot for Scotland, our guide made the next stop in a small town where we cooled off with some ice cream. Surprisingly, it was really good, perhaps due to the good local milk.

Our last stop before Edinburgh was a small highlight. Not far from the highway, our guide took us to a stop where we could see and feed real Highland cows. It was incredibly cute when we fed the mother and her young one came to join. Brave people tried to pet them, but it often resulted in a slobbered hand.

Upon arriving in Edinburgh, after checking into our accommodation, we went out to dinner with four of our friends, including Jake. The restaurant we chose turned out to be one of the famous chef Gordon Ramsay's restaurants.

After enjoying our delicious, albeit expensive meal, the others except Jake went back to the accommodation.

So here we were. Three boys, three men, and the big question was: What do we do with the rest of the evening? The answer was simple: We went for a drink.

And so, shortly afterwards, each with a drink in hand, we settled in a beer garden. After witnessing a brief scuffle, we went to our next stop of the evening. A small room, which was probably part of a cinema, where we witnessed a stand-up comedy competition. Since this was free, the next round of drinks followed immediately upon arrival. The comedians who performed made sure that we had plenty to laugh about in the following hour.

After the event ended, we decided to have one last beer together at the nearest pub. By that time, I must admit I wasn't completely sober, but my English skills benefited from it. I have never spoken English as fluently as at the end of this evening.

But even this evening had to come to an end, so we soon said goodbye to Jake and made our way back to our accommodation. But it was definitely an evening to remember.
