We take the bus from Ostbense to Norden Bahnhof and then continue by train to Norddeich Hafen, where we even catch the former ferry to Norderney. The crossing takes about half an hour.
A different scene on the island. On the one hand, there are many cars on the road and also residential buildings right from the harbor.
The island seems to be well-visited. We reach our accommodation after 15 minutes and make arrangements with the landlord, who also appears right away.
The house where we will stay for a few days is a former captain's house. An old captain still lives here. I had a brief opportunity to chat with him yesterday about the plants in his front yard. He also drew my attention to his website, here's the link: https://kapitaen-jochen-pahl.de/nu
After arriving, we immediately went to explore the village and buy groceries for breakfast. I have already prepared some Bircher muesli. Then we went for a late beach walk. Here we enjoy a beer with a view of the sea.
We find a small quiet Italian restaurant, take a quick stroll through the village, and then return to our accommodation. Good night!

Today is a day of travel, we start our journey after breakfast by taking the bus to Norden Bahnhof (luckily the bus stop is right opposite the hotel), it takes about an hour and goes through the Ostfriesian countryside, beautiful! There we take the train to Nord Mole (harbor) and voila! We even catch the 11 o'clock ferry, an hour earlier than planned.
After a journey of about half an hour, we arrive at Norderney, on the boat there was a lively holiday atmosphere and it continues seamlessly here with a group of young people celebrating a wedding.
The island is again truly different from the other islands, more cars and houses, almost a city feel.
After a 15-minute walk, we already reach the apartment and a minute later the landlord is already there.
The house where we will stay for a few days is an old captain's house, where lo and behold, an old captain still lives! Alda had a nice conversation with him about his garden, which has dune thistles. He also told us about his website that we don't want to withhold from you: http://kapitaen-jochen-pahl.de.nu
After checking in and getting the key, we drink the welcome gift, a bottle of white wine, halfway and visit the village, buy groceries for breakfast, and return to our apartment. Here, Alda prepares the Bircher muesli for tomorrow and then we go for a beach walk, a beer, and dinner.
Good night.
