After breakfast, everything was packed and prepared for the move to the new quarters.
Now I just need to tidy up, get ready, load the car, and then hand over the keys around 10:30 am.
At 11:00 am, I will meet for the key handover at the new accommodation, which I am very excited about.
From 1:00 pm, I will be having lunch in Elaiochori with Eleni and Stavros. Even though it will be a linguistic challenge, I am very much looking forward to this lunch. Let's see, maybe there will be one or two pictures.
As a farewell gesture from Nea Peramos, the nice birds turned my car into a dalmatian overnight....... ...it's amazing what birds can do in just one night!
The new accommodation exceeds all expectations. I feel at home here. It smells like pine trees and herbs. The view of the sea and Thassos, etc. is simply fantastic. It's small, but it would be more than enough for me. This is exactly the kind of house I'm looking for for the rest of my life :-) Or maybe I'll just keep this one 💪💪💪
The lunch was simply delicious, although there was so much food that we could have easily doubled the portion and still had some left over. So I was more than just full, I was stuffed. As expected, the only drinks available were tsipouro and water, which I love. Unfortunately, Christina wasn't there, so the conversation was a bit more difficult, but somehow it still worked. Stavros had to go back to work and Eleni was not feeling well that day, so I left earlier than expected.
When I saw that the door of Mimis' house was open, I immediately stopped. I talked to the ladies there and found out that Mimis is really not doing well at the moment, but he is at home and not in the hospital as I thought. Mimis' daughter, Bobby, told me that he was not feeling well today, so we agreed that I would visit him more often and talk to him when he feels a bit better. The nice thing about it was that I hadn't seen Bobby since 1992 or 1993. And so we talked for a while, as best we could with my language skills.
After that, I went to the supermarket to stock up on drinks, which always seem to run out quickly here.
Then it was time to go to the new accommodation to fully enjoy this living situation.
Since there is an outdoor shower and a hose available here, I grabbed a sponge and washed my car in typical German fashion. Okay, admittedly, I also took a shower with it :-) Now the vehicle is clean, with minimal exceptions that were not visible when wet.
Since I like it here soooo much, I unpacked my DJI drone and flew it for 2 batteries, also taking some test videos that I unfortunately can't share here. I used the last battery, which was only half full, to take some pictures, which you can find above in the pictures.
Afterwards, I ended the evening with 2 beers. Well, 2 beers? I only count the first and the last one :-) I knowingly overlook the ones in between ;-) Everything just fit perfectly into this beautiful evening, which I enjoyed long after sunset.
During this time, I once again realized: when you immerse yourself in nature, you can expect nature to immerse itself in you. I made nice encounters with 3 lizards, a salamander, a cheeky dragonfly, many swallows (the drones love them), and other partly nice and crawling creatures.
