24.08.24 Arrival in St Bees

Anne and I left home this morning at 5 AM. Frankfurt Airport performed well, and we were at the gate by 5:30 AM. The flight to Manchester and the baggage collection at the airport went smoothly as well. Then we took the train to St Bees via Barrow in Furness (a place I had never heard of before). In the meantime, we stumbled around a bit on the beach and enjoyed watching the children squealing and running into the waves in their underwear while we sat in our outdoor jackets and hoods sheltered from the wind. We also collected some stones. Now we are in our hotel room with a beautiful view, relaxing a bit, organizing our backpacks, and tomorrow we'll really get started.
