Today we went on a boat tour again to explore the surrounding islands. We had decided on a day trip that would start at 9:30 a.m. So we went to breakfast early to be fortified for the day!
After the boat finally arrived at the pier at 10 a.m. (we Germans were panicking again that we missed it), we set off on a 30-minute journey towards “Hong Island”. We stopped here for 2.5 hours to explore the islands on our own.
We started on a short “nature trail” through the island where we discovered our first larger spider (but harmless).
Afterwards we decided again for a daring climb to the 360 degree viewpoint. To do this we had to climb what felt like 1,000 steep steps in temperatures that were now over 30 degrees... Great idea! But once again it was well worth it for a truly breathtaking view!
Once we got back down, we went into the sea to cool off a bit. During this there was a bit of commotion on the beach as a monitor lizard made its way across the beach. Very exciting but also scary animals!
After a small lunch box with rice and chicken, we got back on the boat and drove to a small lagoon behind Hong Island. Here too we were able to marvel at the clear water and the high mountains, which is always nice to see!
Again we went to a slightly smaller island “Koh Lao Lading” where we stopped again for about an hour. Unfortunately, snorkeling or swimming wasn't really possible here because of the huge jellyfish that had spread out in the sea. Nevertheless, we made the best of it and sat on the beach with a cool mango shake and watched the goings-on.
We arrived back in Railay around 3:30/4:00 p.m. and went to the beach again to jump into the sea again. After another beautiful sunset we went for some delicious food!
Today we ended the evening again in the Treehouse Bar with a cool mojito and live music.
Tomorrow is the last day on Krabi and we'll soon be heading to the east of Thailand - we're very excited!
