Day 15

Today, after breakfast, Lucas and I set off on our own. First towards Rockefeller Center through Bryant Park, then on to Grand Central Station.

Then we pick up Guido and have lunch with Jan at Café Fiorello, where Jan is a regular. This restaurant is an ideal 'pre-opera aperitif spot', just opposite the Metropolitan Opera, known as the Met.

After lunch, we take an Uber to the One World Trade Center.

Lucas and I go to Battery Park to wave at the Statue of Liberty from a distance.

The Oculus Transportation Hub (designed by Santiago Calatrava) is impressive, depicted as a large phoenix.
