10th day from Bad Kreuznach to Mayen

Cold, mountainous, windy and exhausting. That's how the tour to the last destination before heading home went. Set a new record with 3000 meters of altitude!

The route ran from the beginning on federal roads from village to village. The longest distance between two villages was 8 kilometers. And exactly between these roads, it was so windy that I almost stopped going downhill. That means not only 900 kilometers in the legs, 3000 meters of altitude, but also double effort against the wind. By far the most difficult stage of the journey. Tomorrow we will go back home and finally relax properly.

Mayen is located in Rhineland-Palatinate in the volcanic Eifel and with 19,000 inhabitants it is the largest city in the Rhineland-Palatinate Eifel.
