999 Steps

After an unspectacular journey with little interest in our allegedly essential vaccination certificates (meaning we were formally asked for them, but no one actually wanted to see them), we arrived in Athens in the evening.

The car journey took about two further hours. Then, late in the evening, we reached our first destination for this vacation - Nafplio.

After a relaxed start to the day with breakfast on the terrace in sunny weather and a view of the sea, things got a bit athletic - after 999 steps, we climbed the originally Venetian fortress Palamidi, which overlooks Nafplio.

From there, we enjoyed the sunshine on a walk along the coast, and in the afternoon, we bought our first souvenirs while strolling through the city.

The evening unexpectedly stretched out when we suddenly became the last guests in a wine bar and ended up spending a cozy evening with the waiter and restaurant manager.
