Tag 126 - It's so hot!

What heat! Barely bearable. And it's supposed to get even hotter. I've already drunk about 3 1/2 liters and the day isn't over yet. I wake up at night because I'm thirsty. When I ride to the project, my sunglasses slip off my nose, that's how much I sweat. My eyes are already slightly inflamed from the fan in my room, but I can't do without it, no way.

The guy in the photo doesn't seem to be doing so well either, anyway, he hung his head pretty low. He's wearing fancy cardboard blinders, and the dishes are wrapped in foam and fabric remnants, not to say scraps. He could use a little more fat on his ribs. Horse-drawn carriages are part of the street scene, not just the white-painted carriages for city tours. Sometimes you see individual horses with loosely tied front legs on the roadside, where they have to find their own food, even here in the city. Every now and then, one stands in the middle of the road, but nobody cares. So you just make a detour around the horse. The same goes for traffic in general. Taxis stop abruptly to pick up or drop off passengers. Or a driver stops briefly to talk to an acquaintance. Two-wheeled vehicles drive on the wrong side of the road because there's shade - or fewer potholes. I do the same thing now. Nobody insists on their right of way or gets upset about the driver in front who lets the shaky grandma pass first. People overtake on the right and left, as it suits them, and even write a WhatsApp message at the same time. Horns are constantly honking here - but very relaxed.

I hope I can bring a little bit of this calmness across the Atlantic.
