Brittany

Well, if Nantes no longer belongs to Brittany, then I'll just go a little further. I have encountered the Breton crêpes with salted caramel butter so often that I can't get around a detour. Okay, I admit, the second reason for my stop in the village of Trégon on the Atlantic coast is: my dad. I'll just sneak into his vacation home for a few days and let him take me to all the sights and excursions. Pure luxury. 🤩

Off to a good start. My favorite aperitif is already waiting in the neighboring village.

But it's not all about good food and drink. After we have visited the former pirate stronghold of Saint-Malo, we even venture into Normandy. The most famous island in France is waiting for us here, Le Mont Saint-Michel is located in the middle of the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel. Unfortunately, there are also around 10,000 other tourists waiting for us here.

There are apparently pickpockets, so the backpack becomes a belly bag.

It's like the entrance to a festival, so many people crowd through the streets, devouring their sandwiches or waiting in line if they haven't prepared a packed lunch. We will soon march back, it's not good for the blood pressure.

I cut the connector to my right, what a shame now :D

After this somewhat different detour to Normandy, Brittany puts us back in a good mood. We stroll along the Cap Fréhel, fantastically beautiful cliffs that tower up to 70m above crystal-clear water.

Happy Cappler

And the obligatory jump into Breton waters must not be missing, of course. But don't worry, not here. There are many sandy beaches and the water temperatures are bearable even for me.

The heath is still blooming a bit

Also worth mentioning is the French sheep cheese. Although I ate surprisingly good cheese in Spain as well. So don't worry, I won't come back starving. :D

Unique find at a small organic market in Dol-de-la-Bretagne

My vagabond life is coming to an end. I'm leaving behind the solo exploration tours, the wild Pyrenees, the salty warm Mediterranean, the fun hitchhiking and couchsurfing, as well as the drunken nights on buses or trains without toilets. I will arrive in Geneva at sunrise, where the last few adventure weeks with David will begin! Finally climbing again, finally the Alps again, finally David again! During my journey through dry landscapes, I am now looking forward to this final stage in our beautiful Alps like a little child. ❤️
