From the Landungsbrücken we first went to St. Pauli. We admired the celebrities in the Panoptikum wax museum. What is actually interesting is the production of the wax figures and not just the end result.
In front of the Panopticon stands another Hamburg original: the water carrier Hummel, whose original name was Johann Wilhelm Bentz in the city, but was constantly bullied by many children with the nickname “Hummel”.
However, this nickname probably referred to the actual previous owner of Bentz's apartment, who was sometimes more popular with children than this grumpy water carrier. Since the children were constantly irritating him, the Hamburger usually replied with “Mors, Mors” . This is a well-known abbreviation for the Low German saying “Klei mi an'n Mors” . This means something like “Kick my ass!” . The Hamburg phrase “Hummel Hummel - Mors Mors” is said to have developed from this.
After the red light (district) we went to the black light (golf). It was really interesting, basically mini golf in various underwater scenes in black light. We had a lot of fun!
