By bus to Ho Chi Minh City 🚌

Ku kandziyisiwile: 27.11.2017

Actually, I made it to Ho Chi Minh City (=Saigon)! πŸ’ͺ Although with a shortcut through the bus transfer, but what the heck! Originally, this was supposed to be the end of my Vietnam trip, but now I still have 2 weeks left and will continue heading south to visit the Mekong Delta and Phu Quoc Island! πŸ˜‹

The overnight bus ride to Saigon was tougher than expected! Instead of seats, there were only beds in the bus (including a leopard-print blanket) πŸ‘ Unfortunately, the beds were only sized for Asian standards, even I couldn't really fit my feet comfortably. To make matters worse, we were blasted with Vietnamese pop music for half the night, and for waking up (at 4 am) it was electro-pop! πŸ™ˆ

Anyway, we arrived at 4:30 am. My moped was also assembled in no time, and 10km later, I arrived at my guesthouse. Unfortunately, check-in wasn't until 2 pm, so I explored the surroundings a bit and even found a bakery with sweet treats! πŸ™

After settling into my place, I saw a few more corners of Saigon, went to the workshop, the post office, grabbed something to eat... Everything here seems to be (significantly) more chaotic than Hanoi, and the city is much bigger.

Today (I'm writing this at 9:30 am after having breakfast at the bakery πŸ˜‚), I'm already heading to Can Tho, the "capital" of the Mekong Delta. After all, I have to go back to Saigon anyway to fly to Bangkok and then home, and I still have to sell my moped at the end of my trip - that's better done in Saigon than in the outback! πŸ€“

I'm full, the moped is fueled up.... now all that's left is packing my bag (πŸ˜‘) and off to Can Tho! πŸ›΅πŸ’¨πŸ’¨πŸ’¨
