Sprecher Brewing Company
One of the oldest craft breweries in Milwaukee (est. 1985). They consistently have good beers, such as a Triple IPA with pineapple notes, but also good self-'brewed' sodas, such as Ginger Ale or Root Beer. They advertise that their beers are brewed with fire, which is done through a wort pan directly heated with gas. After interesting conversations with the bartender, he gave us a tour of the well-kept brewery. The filler is located in a separate room for hygiene reasons.
Bavarian Bierhaus
A brewery was built in the restaurant of Zach's former soccer club. Everything here is designed in the Bavarian/pseudo-Bavarian style, from the exterior facade to the interior furnishings. The beers and the menu are also tailored to this. The beers are all in need of improvement, but unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to meet with the brewer.
In addition, we also visited the Milwaukee Brewers' baseball stadium, Miller Park, had a meal, watched an AHL (the 'farm league' of the NHL) hockey game between the Milwaukee Admirals and the Texas Stars (6:2), and visited the world-famous art museum in Milwaukee.
