"...Ballermann, parties and drinking..." That is usually the first thought of the younger generation when going on vacation in Mallorca.
In this post, I would like to introduce you to some beautiful places in Mallorca.
We had our hotel in Cala D´or (located on the southeast coast). The beach bays were right at our doorstep. But unfortunately they were always relatively crowded. Luckily we had a rental car to drive to "deserted" beaches :D.
Let's start with the beach 'Platja des Caragol' in the south of Mallorca. From Cala D'or we drove by car to 'Faro Ses Salines'. This takes about 35 minutes. There is a lighthouse at the southernmost point of the island. We parked our car there and continued on foot. To get to the beach, you have to walk along a rocky cliff for quite a while. Here you have a fantastic view of the sea. Unfortunately, I don't remember how long the walk took, but it was quite a distance. I recommend wearing a sun hat and applying sunscreen. No shade! But the long way is worth it. You arrive at a paradisiacal white sandy beach in Mallorca. No hotels! No crowd of people! Just a beautiful beach with long sand dunes behind it. The waves were very high, but that made it a lot of fun. When we were there (it's already three years ago), there were hardly any people. Just fantastic. The water was wonderfully warm. The beach is very long and you can relax there in peace. There was also a small nudist community at a part of the beach. To each their own. Conclusion: The sandy beach is definitely worth it for anyone who simply wants to retreat and lie on the beach in peace.
Another beautiful excursion in Mallorca is the place 'Sa Calobra' on the northwest coast. There is a small bay here. To get there, you have to take a long winding road. However, during the drive, you have a fascinating view of the rock landscape of Mallorca. The roads are sometimes very narrow and my only concern was that no bus would come towards us :D. The bay is very popular and therefore unfortunately usually very crowded. Once you have arrived, you can park your car in a parking lot (of course for a fee). You have to walk a little further until you reach the bay. There are tunnels in front of the bay that you have to walk through. They are beautifully lit. It is really well done. The bay is small, cozy, and has a rocky beach. Conclusion: very beautiful rocky beach, calm sea (hardly any waves), but many crowds of people.
