Spring break

Ku kandziyisiwile: 08.04.2018

For the first time since Christmas, we had a vacation! These are also the last holidays before the summer holidays, which means my return home. I will tell you what I did in these 2 weeks below:

First of all, it should be mentioned that a friend of mine stayed with me during the holidays, whose host parents were on vacation. This friend can rarely sit still, so we did something almost every day. In the first week, we went skiing, which wasn't as good anymore due to spring conditions, we played tennis (just for fun), went bowling, and simply hung out at DQ.

Over the weekend, we drove to Victoria, but on the way there, we took a detour to Salt Spring Island, which is a slightly larger island between Vancouver Island and the mainland. So on Saturday, we went to this island and there is an art market there every year. Jan wasn't as interested in the art there, but the food there was amazing. We walked around the town for another hour and sat at the harbor. From there, we continued to Victoria by ferry.

In Victoria, I basically spent money, on clothes, shoes, a Swell bottle, and whatever else there is. We were mainly in downtown, but we also rented bikes at the hotel and went to another mall and the sea. It was really cool.

The second week of vacation continued like the first: cinema, tennis, DQ, etc.

On the last day of vacation, it was the last day of skiing. For this occasion, there was a Slush Cup, which is basically skiing in a water pit. I didn't do it, but some of my friends did and it was very funny to watch. The snow, however, was already very bad because it had rained instead of snowing. But I can look back on a good season. I will really miss skiing.

So those were my holidays. The next time I have more than 4 days off in a row, I will already be back in Germany.
