Ku cinca ka pulani

We had the wonderful plan to stay for a night in Puerto Viejo at our favorite hostel and then immediately travel to Tortuguero. Of course, it didn't work out. Somehow, we're not allowed to leave here, it's like a hole that you just can't get out of (even if it's a very nice hole).

So, the plan to go to Tortuguero failed because it would cost us around $50 per trip, which was a bit expensive for us. So, it meant:

Stay one more day in Puerto Viejo and come up with a new plan. We then decided to go to the northwest to the Nicoya Peninsula, which is said to be beautiful!

So, we packed our things and set the alarm for 6:30 a.m.

I have to be honest, I had a feeling that something wouldn't work out. But I didn't expect that tons of dead fish would be washed up in the peninsula yesterday. 8 square kilometers full of dead fish, imagine that :'D But now, I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason and maybe we just weren't supposed to go there yet :)

So, one more day in Puerto Viejo, yay! This morning, we booked a hostel in Monteverde, which is located in the mountains and from there, we can hike into the cloud forests :) So, please keep your fingers crossed that it works out!

Although our time here wasn't completely wasted - Max managed to involve the whole hostel in the construction of a bongo drum out of a coconut! It only took 24 hours for the small brown coconut to come out completely from the big green shell.. Unfortunately, we haven't found a cow that we can slaughter to use the leather as the drumhead - for now, gaffa tape will do. If we find one, we'll send photos :p
