Today was my first day of work at 12 o'clock. First, Rima gave me some information. Then we took the scooter to the orphanage, which is about 7 minutes away. There I met the head Ibu Ine, who is like a mom to the children. Most of the children were still at school at that time, except for the youngest, who is two years old and always stays in the home.
The children live in very cramped quarters and share a bathroom with fourteen people, which consists of just a small sink and a toilet. There is no shower. Instead, water is collected in buckets, with which the children wash themselves. Often, there are also two days a week without water.
At 2 p.m., I finished work and rode my scooter for 30 minutes to the beach. It was very interesting to see what can be transported with a scooterđ (For example, surfboards, televisions, and bicycles) or also some people riding together on the scooter.đ
There at the surf camp, I had something to eat, which cost 7 ⏠including tip. After that, I was at the beach and was able to enjoy a live band during the sunset.
