Departure day

It rained and thundered a lot during the night. Despite the rainy season, we were really lucky with the weather because it was dry during the day. We took another small hike to a hill with a viewpoint. The path was already unique with all the plants and flowers. And at the top, we had a magnificent panoramic view. We had been applying lotion against mosquitoes all the days, but I still got stung on my legs without noticing. It looks creepy but doesn't hurt.

Of a total of about 100 hummingbird species worldwide, there are 70 alone here in Peru. They were buzzing around in our lodge as well.

We say goodbye to the rainforest in the rain. And after a three-quarter hour flight, we are above the desert - what a contrast.

Happy and grateful, we arrive in 'our' Lima and are thankful that everything went well.
