Day 6 (2016) Dubai - Abu Dhabi: Wild Wadi & F1 Yas Marina Circuit

Day 6: Dubai - Wild Wadi Waterpark & Formula 1 Track Yas Marina Circuit

Early in the morning we drive to Dubai to the Wild Wadi Waterpark. We don't know that one yet. We got 2-for-1 tickets from the entertainer, so 2 tickets for free. With the quite high entrance fee, that's already worth it. We park the car not far from the entrance in the hotel's "Wild Wadi Parkhaus".

Compared to Yas Waterworld or Atlantis Aquaventure, the park is "tiny". We find a few free sunbeds in the wave pool area and then explore the park. The tube slides are quite fun, the wave pool with a view of the Burj Al Arab is certainly a highlight. Our son also finds the kids area the most fun here and happily stands under the "giant bucket" or tries out all the water games to be found on the slide climbing frame. The "River" is for chilling, here too, you float through a canal on a tube. Big bonus: there are tubes with backrests here! So you can actually "chill" without bending your back. By noon it gets quite crowded here too, so we spend the afternoon almost exclusively in the kids area of the wave pool or lazy river. It was a nice change, but the park doesn't come close to Yas Waterworld and Aquaventure 😉

In the evening we drive back to Abu Dhabi and drop off the kids at the family's house, as my husband and I have something special planned for tonight:

We're going to walk the F1 track tonight!

The track is open to runners and cyclists tonight. How cool! Unfortunately, we can't manage to rent bikes at such short notice, because there's no app or mobile internet, nothing works, but we planned to "jog" or "walk" the track anyway.

Even after sunset, it's still about 30 degrees Celsius. Phew, I'm sweating a lot. There are still some runners and walkers with us, but most athletes ride the track on a bicycle. There are many families with children participating. Seems to be a real event. In front of the Viceroy, restaurant visitors cheer us and wave to us - very funny!

We finish the track around 10 pm and after showering, we go straight to bed. What a day - we surely took 20,000 steps today...
