And we move on - to Pemberton. The journey won't be boring because on the approximately 300 km we will experience a different landscape than before. Everything is beautifully green and hilly and we drive through the Karri Forest, which is huge eucalyptus trees. Wonderful! The wine region starts here too.

A signpost leads us to a winery run by a Swiss person. He also grows olives. We taste wine and olives and take both with us.

In the Walpole - Nornalup NP we drive along the Valley of Giants Tourist Drive, which leads through the "Valley of the Giants". Only here do the rare Tingle trees grow - giant trees that can grow up to 90 m tall.

A treetop walkway - the Tree Top Walk, leads as a bold steel structure through the treetops of the Karri Forest. It climbs up to 40 m above the forest floor. Here on the circular path at lofty heights, we come close to these giant trees.

The highlight of the day is our accommodation at the Forest Lodge Resort. We have a cozy chalet with a fireplace and all kinds of comfort. Many kangaroos are grazing on the meadow in front of it. We can get pretty close to them. Some have young ones peeking out of the pouch or even slipping out. It's an amazing experience.

Later on, the fireplace is burning (very cozy at 13°C outside temperature), we sit with wine at the big window and continue to watch the kangaroos. This is completely to our taste! It's a pity that we're only here for one night!
