Today we took a shared taxi to Hue. The old imperial city is located about 100km north of Da Nang and is definitely worth a visit.
So we set off in somewhat mixed weather. After about 2 hours of driving, we arrived and immediately visited the old imperial palace and everything that goes with it. With very few visitors, we spent almost 3 hours inside the old walls, wandering around beautiful gardens, history, and the beautiful weather. By now, the ☀️ was shining again. However, if you looked at the locals, with down jackets and hats, you might think you're at the South Pole :D (which is closer here than the North Pole).
When leaving the very extensive complex, we felt like we were running into all of China, with the crowds of people and their guide holding the famous parasol as an orientation point. They were heading directly to the main entrance and we were 'a little' relieved that we were already done 🤪🤯.
Afterwards, we strolled along the Perfume River for a while and then through the city.
Falk found a new hairdresser who gave him a new haircut and beard trim 👨. Very stylish.
Afterwards, we actually found food today that we both liked. That hasn't been the case in the past few days. Usually, Falk would find something suitable and I would sit there with a long face. Today, we both had full stomachs.
While we were waiting for the bus, we sat on tiny plastic garden chairs ☝️ - in our country they would be considered children's chairs - together with locals and watched football. Southeast Asia Championship. Viet Nam against Cambodia. Everyone watches together and all the shops are EMPTY !!
In the car, the absolute highlight - BACKSTREET BOYS are in the car. Karaoke time for Ulli 🤭😬 ..
