The 11th day on Norman's farm is coming to an end, and in the last few days, besides a lot of rain and fog, luckily there were also a few sunny days. However, playing golf has still been out of the question :(. I primarily spent the days weeding and painting the house wall. First everything in white, then everything in black.
The art performance course has paid off. In between, I also completed the last sanding work on the new window and kept an eye on the sheep. They should have already received their lambs a long time ago. Hopefully, I will still witness this event. On Saturday, there was also another 'rat hunt' in the chicken coop, but so far without success.
The highlight of the day is still the shared dinner. I don’t think I have ever eaten so much and such good fresh meat in a week. Lamb, beef, cork beef, sausages, pulled pork, rump steak. So, actually everything and all from the neighbor or from my own farm. Just like the delicious vegetables, from potatoes to salads to broccoli and rhubarb. It doesn't get any better!
On Saturday, I also went to the Kiwi House in Otorohanga, where I first saw the cute kiwis. They symbolically represent the inhabitants of New Zealand, who are called Kiwis. They are New Zealand’s national bird. Nocturnal, flightless, and larger than I expected. In dark rooms, you could see them hopping in a line and pecking around with their beaks. You could also observe more bird species in the Kiwi House. (Kakaniki, Tui, Antipodes)
Together with Norman and Valentin, we had a couple of beers in Norman's favorite sports bar. Yesterday, I also had a nice walk in the sun up to the mountain peak. The view was great, and along the way, I encountered sheep, cattle, and deer.
Now I have 3 days ahead of me until it's time to leave. How, with what, and where remains to be seen, but as long as the weather gets better, I'm fine with anything.
