Day 8 from Minden to Bramsche

Another day on the Mittelland Canal, today from Minden to Bramsche near Osnabrück via Lübbecke, Bad Essen, and Ostercappeln. This trip on the canal was rather uneventful. We sailed through with alternating drivers and even had breakfast during the journey. It was cold and quite damp, not a walk in the park. We arrived in the late afternoon, no marina and no service, but with a valid COVID test. We looked up an Italian restaurant on Maps and went there. It was also quite uncomfortable under a parasol, it protected us from the rain but not from the wind. The owner was cool, we bought a third bottle of grappa from him and then there was another downpour, but no problem, one of the pizza delivery drivers gave us a ride in his car and dropped us off near our boat. Michael wanted to watch highlights of the Cologne game, but they weren't available, so we watched the rest of the UEFA Champions League final, including the penalty shootout, exciting. We had a glass of grappa as a nightcap and then went to bed. We didn't see anything of our two "accompanying boats" today.
