Waking up with coffee in bed and a view of the lake is simply wonderful. After a short run, a delicious breakfast, and a three-minute shower, we continue our journey north. Just straight ahead on National Road 26, lined with forests and lakes, and occasionally a little house or hamlet. It's amazing how much open nature there is here.
As beautiful as it is to look at, driving straight ahead is not so exciting. So I started greeting all the camper van drivers, a little kindness never hurts. A short cake break and Della took over the wheel; at first, he was a bit hesitant to greet (I don't even know him...), but over time he also started to enjoy it. From "Hurray, he greeted back!" to "What an idiot, can't even say hello!" everything was there.
We found a parking spot on the app, which looked pretty good, secluded in the woods by a lake. Access was good on a forest floor and it's another dream spot. Hang up the hammock and just be for a while.
Take out the gas grill, chop everything up for fajitas with guacamole and a view of the lake. I love cooking outside. After the meal, take a walk through the forest, it smells so wonderful and feels totally mystical. We deserve a dessert, strawberries with vanilla sauce, yum. Unfortunately, still no moose seen, so we set the alarm for 3 o'clock hoping to see one in the twilight. To our surprise, it wasn't really twilight at 3 o'clock, it was rather bright, fascinating. We didn't see any moose, they must have been sleeping, just like us a little later.
PS: Are there mosquitoes in such idyllic places in nature? Yes, there are plenty. The mosquito sprays we used so far work very well, the flying critters turn right back around. And if one of them still gets us, we use the Biteaway. Thanks, Heidi!
