Today we had two destinations on the program. On the one hand, Glen Canyon with the Colorado River and Horseshoe Bend, and on the other hand, Antelope Canyon. Both are close to Page and we didn't need a long travel time. The horseshoe-shaped bend of the Colorado River is beautiful. The deep turquoise river winds its way deep below. The different colors of the water and the steep walls of the canyon and their play of colors were overwhelming. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay long as it became unbearably hot. So we made our way to Page. After visiting the snack bar 'Subway', it was time to go to the meeting point for the Antelope Canyon tour. Hard to believe, but we had prepared ourselves for a hot tour, but the sky darkened rapidly. The wind picked up, it started storming, and we experienced our first sandstorm followed by a thunderstorm. So we boarded the open jeeps in wind, sand, and rain and off we went. First on the highway and later on the sandy track. All at breakneck speed, which Mäge commented on with the words: 'Indians should ride better than drive a car - :)'. After about 15 minutes, we reached the Antelope Canyon. One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. The light and colors in the canyon are fantastic. Deeply impressed by the natural beauty that we were able to admire and marvel at today, we drove back to Lake Powell. Once again, a huge steak landed on the grill at the campground. Marielle dryly commented that she would also like to eat a salad, it doesn't always have to be meat...
