In the new hostel after the horror night, I definitely slept better. Unfortunately, there were only two slices of toast fried in oil for breakfast. Kind of lame. Today, I went to another pagoda. Same story. Someone approached me and showed me around, but then asked for money. He led me through the monastery and explained a few things to me. It was actually interesting. The established monk we visited said a prayer for me. Then he asked for a donation. I initially wanted to donate two euros, which is a lot of money for the people here. But then he showed me other entries in his book and apparently other people had donated a whole 27 euros. I couldn't and didn't want to give away that much, especially since I didn't ask for this tour, it was forced upon me. I donated 6 euros and later showed him my worn-out shoes. That was a good argument why I couldn't give so much. So in the end, I had to give him another 3 euros. Then came the highlight: the Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the largest and most famous. I stayed there for a while and then went to the Kandawgyi Lake.
