Cumberland

Arriving at the new Airbnb in Cumberland, we were excited to meet a young couple who were really nice and could give us many tips. We were even invited to a party because the woman finally received her 'permanent residence' or permission to have a permanent residence in Canada from the government. She is originally from Argentina and married a Canadian in February this year ☺ Anyway, on Saturday we celebrated our first Canadian party with their family and friends, everyone was so kind and we felt really welcome.

In general, we explored the surroundings a lot. We visited Nymph Falls and Goose Spit, went hiking on Mount Washington, although there was no trail there and we had to hike up the steep ski slope 😅 and we took a guided tour of two caves - highly recommended and perfect for short people 😋 After Cumberland, we spent another night in Nanaimo to take the ferry to Vancouver the next day. ⛴
