Today at 5 o'clock in the morning we went to Angkor again. At 23 degrees it was quite cool in the tuk-tuk. After we reached the area, we didn't take the road like everyone else, but a bumpy road... From there we walk to the Angkor Wat temple area. So far you can still see the starry sky. After the entrance gate, a path leads to the lotus pond where many other visitors have already found a spot. At 5:30 we also found one that seems quite good to us. Within the next hour it gets brighter and unique pictures are created. Angkor Wat is illuminated from behind and reflects in the pond. Beautiful.
After the first crowd has already visited the temple, we also go to the largest temple in the world - Angkor Wat. In contrast to the other temples, this one is still very well preserved. Accordingly, everything is a bit stricter here. Dress code must be followed, main paths must not be left and tourists are everywhere. Also a very impressive building, but for us (except maybe for the sunrise) clearly not the highlight.
Afterwards we visit other smaller temples. There is more peace here and you can explore the surroundings freely.
We also pass a huge swamp area. Via a bridge you can reach a small temple there that is surrounded by water.
Another beautiful day in Angkor.
