On Wednesday, I took my time getting up as I didn't have any specific plans. I decided to go to Long Beach and explore further from there. So, I walked to the metro and got a 7-day ticket. The journey took about an hour, by bus and train. The whole system is different from Germany, more advanced. You have a card with a chip that you hold to a machine to enter the stations.
Once in Long Beach, I walked to the tourist harbor and looked around. That's where I discovered the Aquarium of the Pacific and spontaneously went in. It was very interesting, there were different types of jellyfish, fish, a show with seals, and you could touch starfish. But the highlight was the opportunity to touch small sharks and rays, which was quite fascinating.
After that, I went back to Hollywood. I got off one stop earlier and walked towards Griffith Park. On the way, I got some Asian food and sat down on a lawn. After dinner, I went up the hill to the observatory where I first got a glimpse of Venus. The image was similar to a half-moon, but smaller, without contours on the surface, and with a light blue sky as the background. Then I watched the sunset. The view of Los Angeles from above is fantastic, although there is a lot of haze or pollution hanging over the city, which significantly limits visibility. Nevertheless, you can see how far the city extends, and you can also understand where the 15 million inhabitants live.
The next morning, I left the hostel and took a bus to San Diego. It immediately felt cooler in San Diego compared to Los Angeles, even though it is further south. The entire journey took about 4.5 hours. I went to the hostel and didn't do much afterwards. The hostel was decorated very interestingly, with many pictures on the walls, very charming.
