Swakopmund

We have reached the end of our journey: We spent 2 days in Swakopmund. Swakopmund is actually a tourist town - very safe, but not very African, rather German (everyone speaks German, the bakery serves Schwarzwälder Torte...). So we were rather disappointed with the city. However, you can take very nice excursions. And that's what we did: in the morning we cruised into the bay of Walvisbay with a catamaran. We saw humpback whales, 2 different species of dolphins, seals, sea lions and pelicans. In the afternoon we visited the Namib, the oldest desert in the world. Here only snakes, oryx and springboks can survive.

Now we have arrived in Windhoek, tomorrow we will board the plane. So the journey comes to an end. But you know us: after the journey is before the journey. And so we are already considering where our next trip will take us.
