By now, we have been sitting in the plane for 6 hours and gradually realizing that the stress and hustle and bustle of the past few days are falling off us. The relief of having managed everything more or less is spreading. Until late last night in our home country, we were still scanning IDs, opening cloud accounts, paying bills, and compressing garment bags. So far, the parts are really great! Except that the closure keeps falling off and, knowing us, the things will soon be gone!
The suitcases weigh a packed 14 & 16 kg.
As we were on our way to Cologne/Bonn Airport this morning, I couldn't stop grinning. Alica was trembling with excitement all over her body, but she was generally positive. Our relatives and friends were at the airport with us to say goodbye. Since there were so many of them, I suspect that they all came just to make sure that we really leave!
But seriously, it was overwhelming to see what amazing people we can call our friends! Not to mention our incredible families! Thank you all!
We gratefully accepted the last well-intentioned instructions and admonitions for our trip and said a heavy-hearted goodbye to everyone.
In 5 hours, we will land in Thailand to meet Lisa, Alica's best friend, who has already had a long journey. After this reunion is properly celebrated, more impressions will follow.
