We wake up at 5:30 am. We spent a quiet night in the parking lot. The view from the window......Dolomites in the morning light.
Amazing!!!
If we thought we wouldn't be driving any more hairpin bends today, we were unfortunately mistaken.
We go over the Passo Monte Croce and then downhill again for ages.
It's unbelievable that it takes almost 7 hours to cover a distance of 280 km.
Our navigation system sends us along strange routes, but the roads are amazingly empty this morning.
After Tolmezzo, we have breakfast first and then continue to Udine and Monfalcone to Trieste.
It's busy again here, as apparently everyone goes to the sea on Sundays.
Our navigation system takes us across a border crossing that has neither a barrier nor a border checkpoint, into Slovenia. However, from Slovenia to Croatia, we are stuck in traffic, as Croatia is not part of the Schengen Area. That takes about 40 minutes.
After the border, it's just a stone's throw to Kanegra, where we want to spend the first few nights at a campsite. We were already here last year at this small but fine nudist campsite. We're lucky and get a pitch in the front row with a view of the sea. So nice.
We organize ourselves and Rudy. We extend the awning, go and take a shower again...what a treat. I immediately pack the plastic outdoor carpet we received back into the storage compartment. It's creepy to have such a thing in front of the door.
Rather stones and grass.
We cook ourselves some pasta with pesto and let the evening end with a view of the sea. Beautiful here!!!
