08.09.2019 - Trip to Ueno Park and the National Museum of Nature and Science
Since my weather app predicted rain for the first Sunday afternoon, I decided to go to Ueno, take a walk in the park, and then visit the Museum of Nature and Science. It was recommended to me by my French colleague. After a quick check on the website, I found out that they have mammoth and dinosaur bones, so the decision was made 🤓
My (short-term) German roommate
On Saturday evening, I met another roommate: Katharina. "Great, some German support!" I thought, until she told me in the second sentence that she has already found a new apartment. She found it too noisy here (due to the traffic) and too dirty (among other things, due to the many black hairs that accumulate in a household with at least 4 dark-haired girls who are admittedly not very good at cleaning) ..well.. then just see if it's better somewhere else. I can't really imagine it - at least not in another shared house. Sure, I wouldn't eat off the floor (or directly from the fridge) here, but I don't have to in the next 3 months either.
The level of cleanliness is similar to that of a student dormitory, where the cleaning is left to the cleaning lady every 4 weeks and everyone only cleans up after themselves. So it's tidy, but over time, the hairs accumulate in the bathroom and the dust collects in the corners... I haven't reached my tolerance level yet, but the next cleaning appointment is at the end of September. So let's see if I'll vacuum before then or if I'll just close the door behind me 😉
Anyway, Katharina had something else to say: there's a typhoon warning for Sunday! Which means you shouldn't leave the house and you should have already done your shopping... well, that's a bummer, does that mean my planned museum trip is canceled?
A typhoon is coming - yes.. no... maybe.. huh? 🌪 (Part 1)
Since I don't just believe anything in the age of the internet, I went straight to my room and asked Mr. Google: "Typhoon Tokyo September 2019 Warning
