We are back in Germany, with a stopover in Nuremberg. After a very calm night at a hiking parking lot near Nuremberg, we quickly found an affordable parking space near the old town. Then followed the usual city tour. Nuremberg has some well-preserved old town buildings and half-timbered houses. But otherwise, the majority of the old town is scattered with terribly ugly post-war panel buildings. It was market day, which gave the whole thing a busy expression.
After an ice cream, we decided to take a city tour through the old town. It was really nice. I found the driving skills of the very young double-decker bus driver remarkable. Because in some places, there was hardly enough space for a handful of people.
Then we visited the castle, which was very steep. Muscle pain is practically included. However, the view over the entire city from the top is worth the climb.
In the distance, we saw a storm approaching, so we decided to go to a tavern and eat Nuremberg sausages. Apparently, we went to the wrong tavern because both the food and the service were terrible.
After the disappointment, we strolled through the streets a bit before continuing with the camper. We drove for about an hour and parked at the Frankiawerk for motorhomes on the free parking space for overnight stays. Before that, we tried to eat at the nearby inn and were compensated for the fiasco at noon. They had really good homemade food.
Now this trip is already over. Let's see where we'll go next time.
