No, we're not in Adamstown. But since the song with this title is playing on repeat at Maxi, it gets dedicated to today's title - but now on to the daily report 🙂
If Loch Ness had a (attention pun) hole through which 10 liters of water flow out in a second, then Nessie would have about 23,000 years to hide. That's how long it would take for it to be completely empty.
We think about such highly complex things when we have too much time. And we had that today, at least in the car.
Our stage today covered almost 400 km in total.
If you compare the Scottish and German road conditions, you can almost double it on top.
Our Fiat 500 set off early in the morning. This time we headed towards Inverness. We made our first stop at the Culloden Battlefield, where the decisive battle between the English and the Scots took place in the 18th century. We stayed there for about as long as the battle lasted - one hour.
We could have saved ourselves the next two points. A distillery without good whisky and a dolphin viewing point without dolphins, well, hindsight is always 20/20...
Then we went to the Loch Ness region. Here we spontaneously felt at home, because the landscape actually resembles that around Lake Edersee.
In the Glennfinnan Valley, not far from Ben Nevis, Scotland's tallest mountain, we were totally thrilled by the mountain scenery and the Glennfinnan Viaduct, over which the 'Hogwarts Express' runs twice a day.
On the way home, it got a bit exciting when the tank was almost empty and our bladders were quite full. But figuratively speaking, in the nick of time a gas station appeared and we were saved :)
Tonight we will sleep in a garage, not because we couldn't find any accommodation, but because our hosts have converted their garage into a small holiday apartment.
Tomorrow we will actually make the final stop of our trip - Scotland's capital Edinburgh. But we still have a lot to do on the way there!
Until tomorrow and greetings
Verena and Maxi
