After yesterday's 11-hour train ride, I arrived in the southernmost city on my journey: Melbourne.
The traffic in the city center is much calmer and less hectic than in Sydney. Is this perhaps due to the well-developed tram network? Trips within the city center and to the docks are free.
In the new city, I had to first get an overview. This can only be done at the Eureka Skydeck on the 88th floor (285 meters above ground). The elevator only takes 40 seconds for that. However, looking down, the perceived height was at least double. Up there, I decided to explore the extensive parkland at the botanical garden next. Only during the walk did I realize that despite the shade from the trees, this is a strenuous outing in the temperature of just over 30 degrees. A swim in the pool would have been very welcome.
