Day 1.
We drive 2.5 hours from Eva's parents to Palzem on the Moselle. With one stopover, Lore manages to get through it quite well and we notice that she can be calmed down by humming. From now on, it's all about oiling her voice and belting out every lullaby imaginable.
We spend the first night on a private pitch at the Pauly winery, where we have a wonderful view of the Moselle and Luxembourg. We are the only ones on the pitch and in the evening we accept the owner's offer: a wine tasting from local vineyards. All 5 wines taste excellent and we don't waste any time packing a box with Elbling (local grape), Auxerrois and Chardonnay. Now we are equipped for Spain.
The temperature for the night is predicting -2 degrees, but it will be clear and there will be no rain. So the auxiliary heating is turned up while Chris wraps himself up in the roof tent in 7 layers. The evening is relaxed and we nibble on our first meal in the van. Delicious lasagne from the Omnia oven. 🧑🍳 We know most of the steps and processes from the bus when there are two of us in it. With a baby, it sometimes requires a little more athleticism and flexibility. But Lore is happy. So the parents are happy.
The next morning we quickly change the diaper during breakfast and after 1.5 hours we are ready to leave again. We continue on to Neufchâteau in France. 🇫🇷
