Yes, he took his time, but the parental leave in Bolivia seems to have paid off. After we had to order the parts for the clutch from the USA, the workshop kicked it into high gear and installed them within 3 days. We then took a little test drive when we arrived. After solving a few small problems, we were ready to go. We would almost say that our streak of bad luck is over, yay!
Two people are really worth mentioning here. Our extremely competent mechanics, Jorge and Christian. Even though we had to eventually put a stop to their repair madness, we were still in good hands. It took them a while to figure out how to communicate with us so that we could understand. Over the course of 6 weeks, a friendship developed. They can't be blamed for their Bolivian work pace. Every time we arrived with more problems after a test drive and they had to work countless overtime hours, they always had a smile and a silly remark on their lips. Even though they don't earn much. After our time in Peru, we were actually looking forward to seeing them again.
Muchas gracias Jorge and Christian for your help. If you ever come to Germany, you're very welcome.
