Highlight of the day: Blue sky, warm and it's spring.
Most of the time I sleep early because I'm tired from hiking. But by 3 o'clock I'm almost wide awake. I watched a movie on Netflix and then slept well again.
I had agreed with the hostess for breakfast at 8 o'clock. I was there on time and the varied breakfast (see photo) was already ready. But since I'm not a big breakfast eater, I left a lot. However, I poured the orange juice into my thermos bottle and took it with me. I was very grateful for that later.
After 3 kilometers I reached Büren aA. It is also a small old town with a wooden bridge over the Aare. Similar to yesterday in Aarberg.
The lake path led along the right bank for a long time, then later crossed to the other side via a road bridge. Since it was already quite warm by now, I enjoyed the shade that the trees on this side provided.
A special highlight today was definitely Altreu. This place has long been no secret when it comes to storks. Countless nests can be seen on trees and houses, and there is a constant coming and going. If you've never been there, I can highly recommend a visit. It seems to me that now is a good time, as the birds are breeding and then raising their young.
I can also highly recommend a bike tour along the Aare. It's really flat and an electric bike is definitely not necessary here, but it works too. The paths are well developed and wide enough even when there is oncoming traffic.
There must be many beavers, because you regularly see their traces on the shore or signs warn of the danger of collapse above a beaver's burrow 🦫. Since these animals are nocturnal, I was not surprised that I didn't encounter any.
I didn't specifically plan it, but today I noticed that Solothurn is already the fourth city with a cathedral on my tour. Because I have heard and read a lot of positive things about Solothurn, I have planned my last day of rest for tomorrow. I'm excited to see and experience everything.
The entire tour on Komoot:
