It's been a seemingly long time on the ferry and I'm eagerly looking forward to arriving in Travemünde. Thirty hours is really long, especially without a phone and mobile data. Last day alone on the road. The Baltic Sea is calm and most of the time we have full sun.
After a pleasant night, the day starts with a brunch around 9:30 am. Around 10 am, we pass the southern tip of Öland.
We continue past the Swedish south coast and through the Bornhomsgat between the Swedish city of Ystad and the Danish island of Bornholm.
Around 5 pm, we drive past the chalk cliffs of the island of Møn. I didn't get to see them because of my second flat tire from Præstø. Even more beautiful to see the island now from the water at a distance.
We follow the German Baltic coast from Rügen. Always along the wooded coastline. It's a fantastic summer day.
About an hour before the planned arrival in Travemünde, a pilot comes on board to maneuver us into the narrow entrance of the Trave River.
Quite punctually at 9:45 pm, we dock in Travemünde. The four of us cyclists are the first to disembark and ride through the ship's belly past trucks and tractors.
A great adventure comes to an end.
