We spend our last day in the house separate for now. Michael and Simone ride together with Frida, Erik and Greta on the cargo bike 'Urban' about 15 kilometers to Bynuten mountain. They explore the area without attempting to reach the summit. The ride on the cargo bike is fun and Erik wishes for it as a new bike for Rene.
Meanwhile, Rene, Grandma Regina, and I go on a boat tour together with David and Irma. The small 20 horsepower boat can carry a maximum of 6 people. We all put on life jackets and cruise on one of the North Sea fjords. Even a small seal pops its head out of the water. The kids are thrilled. After 45 minutes our trip ends and we still play in the house.
Around 1 pm, Michael and Simone return with the kids. After lunch, Rene, Frank, Michael, Erik, and Greta go out on the boat. Frida feels sick while waiting in the canoe and therefore decides not to go on the trip. David is very sad that he can't come along and cries for a while. We women pack our things now. There's a lot to discover on the boat trip. A dolphin is sighted as well as the North Sea.
During a walk with the children, we are allowed to go crab fishing together with a Norwegian family. Children's fishing rods with half a filled shell on a clothespin are prepared for this. They are supposed to attract the crabs. In addition, nets are available. We actually manage to catch 5 small crabs. We are assured that these crabs are too small and will be released back into the sea in the evening.
We also get up close and personal with the animal and touch its shell and claws. An adult crab can separate a finger with its claws. Ours are so small that there is no danger.
After dinner, we try our luck with fishing again. All the children put on life jackets for safety and are allowed to fish. In between, Greta wants me to try as well and I manage to catch a 30 cm long mackerel. Fortunately, Grandma Regina knows what to do and the fish doesn't suffer. Everyone stands around the fish excitedly. We can't catch any more fish because the fishing rod breaks. In the evening, we enjoy the fresh fish. Even though I don't like fish, I try a piece and it tastes very good.
