The Arrival

Nai-publish: 25.09.2024

From Munich, I took the BlaBlaBus overnight to Paris. It was basically like Flixbus, just without Wi-Fi. So it was great that I had downloaded podcasts and an audiobook beforehand. šŸ˜ŠšŸŽ§Ā

During the first half of the journey, I could spread out over two seats, but still, I slept very little. In Paris, I first grabbed a tasty croissant for breakfast at a small bakery. šŸ˜‹Ā

Afterward, I walked approximately 8 kilometers along the Seine through Paris, ticking off a few tourist attractions like a proper tourist: Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower. It was a bit disappointing that all three were under construction.

Overall, it was quite gray with a few rain showers. Still, some people were jogging along the Seine. I also noticed that sometimes steam was coming up from a manhole in the middle of the path. I even walked through it once; it didnā€™t smell like sewage, maybe it was from the subway? šŸ¤”šŸ˜…

Even though it was only these 8 kilometers, my shoulders started to hurt a bit from the backpack by the end. I actually wanted to secure it, but I couldnā€™t find any lockers at the bus station. Iā€™m curious to see how it will be when I walk double to triple that amount in a day. I hope my back and shoulders get used to it!Ā

Now I've been on the bus for almost 9 hours again. That means about another 15 hours, then Iā€™ll be in Lisbon! šŸ˜€
