Why do all good things come to an end? πŸ˜”

Nai-publish: 28.06.2016

Our dear followers. We would like to say in advance: We are currently sitting at half past midnight - 5 hours before our flight to the Amazonas - in our beds and crying tears one after the other. Why? More on that later. πŸ˜”

After our excursion into the Brazilian nightlife, Bine was pretty paralyzed. So don't be surprised if not too many pictures of her appear. Sunday was characterized by stomachache and nausea πŸ˜·πŸ€’ But we see the positive side: now we have both suffered here in the distance and now we can drive into the jungle with full strength. Before that, here are a few insights from Sunday and Monday here in Marilia. πŸ€—

The good hangover breakfast was - as it should be - meat. We grilled at Marilia's house and Samuel (her husband) served us well. By the way, Marilia lives in a small residential area in Marilia, where all the houses look the same. Oh yes, we don't want to withhold the delicacy from you:

Since Mayara had a little too much alcohol, she was tired all day and just lay around, who doesn't know that? ☺ So Marie and Marilia sweetened the day and chatted and relaxed a lot. After all, it's Sunday. πŸ™ƒ And by the way, Sunday is also the day when families go to church. But church here doesn't mean reading from the Bible, but singing. A live band plays religious songs and the whole community celebrates the evening together πŸ˜‡πŸ•

In the end, we were hungry again, so we went to one of the best pizzerias in town. The preparation here is typically Italian. πŸ• Gostoso! As a special highlight, there was a belated birthday serenade for Marie from the entire restaurant and a gift from the house 🎁.

The short night paid off and everyone fell dead on the bed, because the last day has also arrived. Bine is well again and so we could take a little drive through the city with Marilia and secretly buy some gifts for the host family. Before we handed over the gifts, we had to do something for our figure. That's why Bine went to Crossfit again and Marie went for the first time. We had a lot of fun πŸ’ͺ, even if all these squats eventually became unnecessary 😁. But a little fitness on vacation never hurts.

It was a wonderful last day with everyone and we would also like to say on this way: Obrigada Carlos, Cinara, Mayara e Marilia! πŸ‘ͺ That's why there were small gift bags with chocolate as a farewell gift πŸ˜™

In the last 5 days, we have become part of a family. The warmth, openness and trust that was shown to us cannot be put into words. We are infinitely grateful for this time and can't wait to see everyone again. 5 days in which we were shown what cohesion means. Everyone here immediately took us to their hearts and it is difficult for us to say goodbye. But: All good things come to an end. Why? Because we will be even more happy when we can hug these people again someday. And before we start crying again, we wish you a good night. Because the farewell at the airport tomorrow will be tough πŸ™.

We will hopefully get in touch after landing in Manaus (17:27 German time, remember: the time difference will then be -6 hours❗) and greet, especially today, the people at home who we have taken into our hearts. ❀

We keep our fingers crossed.
