Next stop today: Thermal Wonderland in the south of Rotorua.
This geothermal area impressively shows how small the earth's crust is above the magma here. Smoke, seething, and bubbling emerges from the ground everywhere. The partially 100°C hot spots all show many different colors. Hard to believe that they were not artificially dyed but are real.
In the end, we also looked at the mud pool, a bubbling hot water hole just before the actual thermal area.
In the evening, we visited the Nightmarket in Rotorua, where the many small stalls had a variety of foods and snacks. We didn't know which ones to try first.
The short walk back to the camper ended our day.
