On Monday I started my New Zealand trip. Until February 14th I will travel to the South Island (Te Wai-pounamu) with 3 friends. 4 weeks of camping, no private bathroom and no kitchen - that will be an adjustment at first.
When I arrived in Queenstown, I first took a look at the city. Queenstown is located on Lake Wakatipu surrounded by mountains. In contrast to Australia, the sun sets relatively late here. It's still light until 10 p.m.
On Tuesday I picked up our car and Raquel from the airport. Then we went shopping for camping gear and went back to Queenstown. Afterwards I met with Louis, it was crazy to meet someone from the team on the other side of the world.
In the evening the camping adventure started at the 12 Mile campsite near Queenstown. On Wednesday we went back to Queenstown to do a few things and buy things. We then made our way to Moke Lake where we stayed overnight.
We spent Thursday to Saturday again in Queenstown. On Saturday I walked up Queenstown Hill. The view from here was super nice.
In the meantime Nuria had also arrived. In the evening we made our way to Moke Lake again to camp there again. On Sunday we went to Lake Alta, a lake in a small ski resort near Queenstown.
