Sunrise and coffee

Çap edildi: 10.10.2017

After our great night in single beds (which we pushed together to cuddle, yeehaw), we were quite fit. So we sat on the hillside again, on the wall, and marveled. In front of us, a valley of mountains and fog with a few lights from the villages and above it all, the red of the sunrise. As our butts started to get cold, we started walking. A beautiful path gently uphill between trees and bushes. On the right side, a view almost like in Switzerland, green fields and high mountains.

After about 5 kilometers, we took a coffee break and luckily the coffee place also had a shop where we bought, who would have guessed, baguettes! I discovered chocolate buns like the ones on vacation in Italy. Mmmh, so delicious!

We continued a little further with the only Swiss person on the whole Camino and were happy to speak Swiss German.

We faced a very, very steep section and it took a lot of energy to reach the top. Happy that there was no more major ascent from here, we continued.

About halfway to our destination today, we had coffee and used the amazing WIFI. After two days without WIFI, my blog needed catching up and a short phone call with my family was also necessary.

We were almost knocked down by chestnuts falling from the trees. It felt like being in Ticino!

With sore knees, we finally arrived in Triacastela, 21 kilometers away. In the most beautiful hostel on the whole Camino, we got the last beds. After a nice and soothing, very hot shower, we shared our hummus and baguettes with Laura from Texas. Tonight, we are cooking! An Italian will cook pasta with tomato sauce for us... and I bought frozen peas. Finally, vegetables!
