Trogir & Nightlife in Sibenik, Part Two

Çap edildi: 26.07.2019

On Thursday, we visited the picturesque town of Trogir. Trogir is a medieval island citadel that has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997.

We particularly liked the Cathedral of St. Lawrence. The building, dating back to 1123, combines Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance styles. The church tower was completed in 1610 after 5 centuries of work.

I took photos of the extraordinary portal with Adam and Eve (by Radovan), the chapel of St. Ursula, where there is even a figure looking down from the ceiling, various art treasures, and the bell tower. We reached the top at exactly 12 o'clock and had to cover our ears because of the ringing.

The main square is lined with a clock tower and a loggia.

On the Ciovik side, we met Ivana and her son Dario, a former neighbor from Emdener Str. in Berlin. She had discovered my status pictures on WhatsApp and when we realized that we were in the same area at the same time, we arranged to meet for a coffee.

On the way back to Sibenik, we stopped for a swim in one of the countless bays.

At home, the children had dinner and the parents got ready to go out. We had agreed that Noemi and Levi would go to bed by themselves after watching a movie, just like the day before yesterday.

We had chosen a fish restaurant where Tina enjoyed a large fish platter with lobster, mussels, tuna, swordfish, and squid, and Robert had sea bass. It was delicious!

After checking on the children (everything is very close together here), we decided to visit "our" bar on the ground floor. We had just ordered cocktails and wanted to listen to the voice-guitar duo who happened to be playing in the courtyard today when Levi and Noemi called to tell us that the movie was over and they were going to brush their teeth and go to bed.

Spontaneously, we asked them if they wanted to come down and listen to the great concert as well. The kids were thrilled and it was 10:30 PM...

It was a wonderful evening; the warm air, the good music, Noemi dancing, and all of us enjoying delicious (children's) cocktails.
