Advent, Advent in London

Advent, Advent a little candle burns, or even more. Because in London, the streets are once again adorned with beautiful lights. Some lights may already be familiar to you, as they were also featured in my Christmas blog post last year.

For example, the angels hanging high above the heads on Regent Street and stretching across the entire street. It is always a beautiful sight and I can never get enough of it.

In the city center, there is hardly a street that is not adorned with some light installations. This year, I decided to wander through the city without a plan and discover other decorations.

The halls of Covent Garden were adorned with giant mistletoe branches, lanterns, and large disco balls that brought a beautiful shine to the halls.

Soho is a district of London's West End. It is bordered by Oxdord Street, Piccadilly Circus, Regent Street, Leicester Square, and Charing Cross. Probably everyone is familiar with London's Chinatown, which is also located in Soho.

Another major tourist destination during the Advent and Christmas season is Carnaby Street. This street is always adorned with colorful and thematic decorations. Last year, there were all kinds of underwater animals hanging there. This year, there are many different butterflies.

Carnaby Street is primarily a street with many different fashion stores. It is also one of the most famous shopping streets in London.

But even in the side streets or other small and large parks, you can discover a variety of lights.

This archway particularly caught my eye. I loved the combination of the lantern with the string lights. I think the last picture is my favorite this year when it comes to light installations.

Many of the bridges that span the Thames are also brightly illuminated by string lights. It creates a completely different picture when walking along the Thames in the dark. Truly beautiful.
