Visiting the historic park of Sukhothai

10/24/2018:

First of all, I slept in with waking up a thousand times in the morning. I still can't sleep when it's bright. The sleep mask doesn't really help either. The alarm went off at 9:30 a.m. Almost everyone in the room was already gone. I got up and started walking. At the reception, I received information on how to get to the old town of Sukhothai (14 km away). There is the Historical Park with many temples. This park is a World Heritage Site. When I arrived there, I had breakfast first. The first time having breakfast outside. Usually, I would get something from the supermarket.

Rented a bicycle and aimlessly rode through the park. I didn't want to stress myself like always. When I'm here, I have to see this, see that,... No, I'm going to slowly and leisurely ride around here. Anything that looks interesting will be visited. That's it. I no longer have the desire to visit predetermined sights that I want to see. Unnecessary stress.

A man wanted to sell a wooden frog to a Frenchman. I found it quite funny. With a stick, you could stroke the back of the frog and it actually sounded like a frog. He wanted 5.40 € for it. I negotiated stubbornly. We went back and forth a few times. In the end, I only had to pay 3.23 €. Goal achieved.

It wasn't easy to find a restaurant for lunch. So it ended up being an expensive one. The desire gradually decreased, it drizzled in between. Returned the bicycle. Went back. Dinner. One of the staff told me about the night market and explained the way to me in broken English. First of all, through the dark, poorly lit field path. All right. I couldn't find it, so I had a soup at a stand. I added some chili flakes. It was the first time that I had to surrender to the spiciness before a meal. I fished everything out, but the broth made me cough too much. It just didn't work.

Google Maps said there was a market somewhere. I ran in that direction, but there was none there. It was more by luck that I reached the market. And it was great! So much food! Ferris wheel! Game booths! And: Feeding baby goats with a bottle. No, seriously. That was so funny! How they pounced on it. And then that show on stage. Then I ate my way through the market. Donut. Cheese fries. Coconut. Just awesome! Oh yeah, and muffins for the next few days. Just awesome. And I extended my stay here for another night. Tomorrow I'll just lie in the hammock. And if the internet cooperates, write a blog post.
